Description: Home made mailbox for children to put their Valentine’s cards into.
Party  Theme: Valentine’s Day
Type of Project: Arts & Crafts
Materials Needed:
  • Red rolls of craft paper
  • Tissue or shoe box
  • Thick brown paper (scrap book paper worked well)
  • Regular white paper with other bear pieces on
  • Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tape
Step by Step Instructions: Each child was asked to bring in an empty rectangular tissue box or shoe box. Rolls of red craft paper were purchased to wrap the boxes in and a hole was cut out on the top. I downloaded templates of the bears on www.dltk-holidays.com/valentines/pbearbox.asp. I traced the brown body parts of the bear on thicker brown craft paper and photocopied the other parts. Each child received a copy and colored, cut, and pasted their mailbox together. The children then put their valentine cards in each other’s boxes.
Additional Comments: I did one at home with my daughter as an example for the class. She loved it!
